Issue:
Many current customers using Perle ASCII servers (Perle Models 3i, 394E with ASCII, M3PC, and 494E with ASCII) are installing PerleTALK for Windows on their remote PCs to add dial-up capabilities for their remote users. Configuration parameters for these Perle ASCII servers will need to be modified to support users with PerleTalk for Windows. Listed below are the basic parameters that enable Perle ASCII servers to support PerleTALK/Win users.

Model 394E with ASCII and Model 3i servers
Configuration of Port Definition Device Type and Workstation Address must be set to Changeable *YES.
Model 494E with ASCII
Port Configuration screen : ASCII Display Type must be set to Select At Connect.
M3PC
In the configuration of the User Profile the parameter labeled Connecting Device should to be set to Any.
