Issue:
Configuring Trueport for AIX for Standard Mode.
Solution:
Standard mode is only supported when Trueport is used with a Jetstream/Lanstream server.
With Standard mode the Trueport serial ports operate exactly like standard serial ports and support a full range of serial I/O commands (IOCTLs).
To configure Trueport for AIX in Standard Mode you will need to set the Hostname/IP address field to "NONE", then specify the number of devices you want created:
Add Terminal Server
Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.
[Entry Fields]
* Hostname or IP address [NONE]
* Number of ports [24] #
Base TCP/IP port number [10001] +#
Keep alive timeout (seconds) [30] +#
Enable logins now ? [Yes] +
Note: When configured for Standard Mode, Trueport is a listening process. Ensure the Jetstream/Lanstream is configured for Service = Silent Raw.
