Issue:
Ioprint+ stops printing or prints garbage.
Cause:
Data flow control signals mismatched.
BUSY (pin 11) and ACKnowledge (pin 10) are used for data flow control on printer interfaces. The printer raises the BUSY signal (positive voltage) when it is processing data and cannot accept another character from the PC.
After the printer receives and processes the character, it lowers ACK (zero voltage) and lowers BUSY to tell the PC to send another character.
If there is a mismatch in the data flow control configuration, ie printer uses Busy only and Ioprint+ is configured for Busy/Ack, then problems will arise such as garbage data or halt in data flow as the Ioprint+ may encounter a signal to wait for an Ack and the printer is not raising this signal.
Solution:
Configure the correct Handshake Signal on the Ioprint+ parallel port to match the method used by the attached printer.
You can change the Ioprint+ parallel Handshake Signal via BiAdmin:/
Status -> Printer Status -> Select Port -> Details -> Handshake Signal.
