Issue:
Jetstream/Lanstream and Iolan SDS fails to print when using CUPS LPD remote printing.
Cause:
CUPS does not conform to the LPR rfc 1179 source port restrictions by default.
Solution:
Reconfigure the printer queue type and enable Strict rfc1179 option.
You can also edit the /etc/cups/printers.conf file and add the following to the DeviceURI:
?reserve=any (or yes)
example: DeviceURI lpd://192.168.1.201/ascii_p1?reserve=any
Note: you can add the printer as a Network Printer (TCP) in CUPS (if supported) and configure the Jetstream/Lanstream/Iolan SDS port for Reverse RAW instead of the Printer service.
We can provide more information about our products or arrange for a price quotation.
