Solution:
1. Turn power OFF the IOLAN+.
2. Attach a Terminal to serial Port 1 of the IOLAN+. See link to cabling below.
Set the Terminal for 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, stop bit. You can also use a PC instead of a Terminal. Use Hyperterminal on the PC. Configure Hyperterminal for the same settings.
10MB Iolan+ units:
a. On the rear of the IOLAN+ is a black gromet covering a hole. Remove it if one exists. You will notice a miniature switch inside the hole.
b. Use a pen or pencil and use it to depress and hold in the switch. The older models have enough room to be able to push the switch in using your finger.
c. Power on the IOLAN+ but continue holding the switch until a menu appears on the terminal screen.
10/100MB Iolan+ units:
a. Type Control + "b" five times while the unit is booting up when the Network LED is flashing.
The menu should appear. Select the following menu options.
5. Reset.
2. Reset password.
q Quit and boot server firmware.
The Administration password will now be reset back to 'iolan'.
Note: there is no method to reset the "Login" password through the Bootstrap.
