Issue:
How to factory reset the IOPRINT+ using FTP.
Solution:
Make sure that the IOPRINT+ has been assigned an IP address. If it does not have an IP address or the unit is not responding, use the ARP command to assign a temporary IP address. Make sure that the PC in which you are using the ARP command is on the same subnet as the IOPRINT+.
For Unix, type the following from the command line:
arp -s yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy 00:c0:02:xx:xx:xx
For Windows, type the following command from the MSDOS or command line:
arp -s yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy 00-c0-02-xx-xx-xx
where yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy is the new IP address to be given to the IOPRINT+ server. xx:xx:xx is the last 6 digits of the IOPRINT+ server name.
For example, if the IOPRINT+ server name is SCF23456, its mac address would be 00c0F2123456 whereby the first 6 digits (00c002) is standard for all IOPRINT+ servers.
Make sure you can ping the temporary IP address of the IOPRINT+ server before continuing.
FTP to the IOPRINT+ server's IP address as follows:
For example, suppose that you assigned temporary IP address 192.168.1.1.
From the command prompt, type: FTP 192.168.1.1
You will receive a reponse similar to the following:
Connected to 192.168.1.1
220 Print Server Ready
Name (192.168.1.1:root):
For the Name prompt, enter the IOPRINT+ Server name located on the label on the bottom of the unit.
When prompted for the password, just press the enter key to continue.
At the ftp> prompt, type the following:
get DEFAULTC (DEFAULTC is in upper case).
Note: The process of retrieving the DEFAULTC file from the IOPRINT+ will restore it to factory default settings.
Close FTP by typing: quit
