Issue:
594E controller configured for TCP/IP over ethernet,the IP connection comes up immediately,however the SNA sessions can take anywhere form 10-30 minutes to establish a session.
Cause:
The AS/400 network attribute not set correctly.
Solution:
Go to AS/400 command line and do the following
CFGTCP
Select option 12 (Change TCP/IP domain information)
check field ( Host name search priority) field should be set to *LOCAL
this field may have been defaulted to *REMOTE
