Issue:
WinAttach Service fails to start with error code 2
Cause:
An error code 2 on service start means the chosen communications device is already in use.
Solution:
Typically this will be seen when a serial device (e.g., COM1:) has been selected and is already in use by another device (e.g., serial mouse, printer, etc. ... ).
Assign WinAttach to another port. This is done through the control panel applet. Select the transport tab, highlight the chosen device and push the properties button. An alternative port can be selected from the list.
