Uninstalling the 16/32 bit Netsoft products

Issue:
I installed my Affinity adapter with a NetManage (NetSoft) 5250 software package. Now I've decided to try another software package. How do I get rid of all the references to the NetManage software?

Solution:
To uninstall the 32 bit NetSoft products

:Click           Start
Click           Settings
Click           Control panel
Double click    Add/remove programs
Remove          Remove the Netsoft software

GO to           DOS prompt
Key-in          cd\
Press          
Key-in          deltree PROGRA~1\NETSOFT
Press          
Key-in          Y


Key-In          cd\windows\system
Press          
Key-In          del e32*.*
Press          
Key-In          del EHN*.*
Press          


Key-in          cd\windows
Press          
Key-in          edit system.ini
Press          

Semi-out (comment / remark) all NetSoft Modifications from beginning
    to end in the 386ENH section of the windows\system.ini -

    The following are what to look for in the 386ENH section
:   
                        VDNSQHEAPSIZE
                        VDNSWQ.386
                        VDTWINX.386

    When found, place a semi-colon in front of the line
   
When finished editing the SYSTEM.INI file, save and exit the file.

Click           Start
Click           RUN
Key-in          REGEDIT
Press          
    under
        HkeyLocalMachine
            Software
                delete the NetSoft Folder

    under
        HKeyCurrentUser
            Software
                delete the NetSoft Folder

:Key-In      cd\windows\system
Press      
Key-in      del ENH*.*
Press      

Key-In      cd\windows
Press      
Key-in      del NSRTRCFG.DFT
Press      
Key-in      del HOTSPOTS.DFT
Press      

Key-in      del E400.ini
Press      
Key-in      del E400LNG.INI
Press      

Key-in      cd\windows
Press      
Key-in      edit system.ini
Press      
    Semi out (comment / remark) all NetSoft Modifications from
    beginning to end in the 386ENH section of the windows\system.ini
   
    The following are what to look for in the 386ENH section

:                        VDNSWQHEAPSIZE
                        VNS8022.386
                        VNSBUFR.386

    When found, place a semi-colon in front of the line

    In the SYSTEM.INI file also
    Semi-out (comment / remark) all VNS

When finished editing the SYSTEM.INI file, save and exit the file.


Key-in      edit WIN.INI
Press      
    Search for and delete

        RTR=[entensions]
            and
        NETS=[NetSoft]
