Solution:
In these examples the LAN network is 165.154.129.0/24 with a single LAN router not supporting RIP. The Perle server IP address is 165.154.129.100/24
Configuring the WAN as a new network:
WAN network: 165.154.130.0/24
WAN port IP address: 165.154.130.1
WAN subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
WAN IP pool: 165.154.130.10 count 8
Note: DHCP can also be used if a new scope for the 165.154.130.0 network is created on the DHCP server.
Static route added to LAN router (if RIP is not used):
- destination 165.154.130.0
- mask 255.255.255.0
- gateway 165.154.129.100
Configuring the WAN as a subnet of the LAN network. Network devices are occupying address' from .1 to .126
WAN network: 165.154.129.129/25
WAN port IP address: 165.154.129.129
WAN subnet mask: 255.255.255.128
WAN IP pool: 165.154.129.130 count 8
Proxy ARP is enabled
Based on the subnet mask used above the WAN subnet will be addressed .128 - .255.
