Issue:
New installation of a 594 controller configured for tcp/ip over ethernet, during the ipl process controller stops and displays messages 720 II 46 F20031 or 720 II 46 F20024
Cause:
If the controller is configured for IP routing, check that your Host Port IP address is configured.
The other common reason is related to supernetting which is not supported by the Perle.
Solution:
Supernetting can result from configuring a Class C IP address of 192.168.1.1 with a Class A subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 or A Class B subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. This is considered supernetting and is not supported by the Perle 594e or 594t. What you need to do is use a Class C subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 or a subnetted mask such as for example 255. 255.255.192 when working with a Class C IP address.
Supernetting a class B IP address will also fail. For example, 172.99.3.22 with mask 255.0.0.0 Instead, what you need to do is use a Class B subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 or a subnetted mask such as for example 255.255.240.0 when working with a Class B IP address.
