Issue:
How to create a new system diskette for the Model 3i.
Solution:
When attempting to use a 1.44mb floppy diskette on the Model 3i you must format the floppy diskette for 720K as follows:
1. Place a piece of masking tape over the open hole on the front right side of the floppy diskette. Do not use clear tape.
2. From the MSDOS command prompt, type the following command: format a:/F:720
The diskette may now be used in order to create a new Model 3i System diskette.
To create a new Model 3i System diskette, do the following:
1. Download the Perle Model 3i software from WEB site: http://www.perle.com/downloads/as400.html
2. Follow the readme file for instructions.
Once you have created a new Model 3i system diskette, you will need to configure the diskette. Refer to the Model 3i User's Guide for configuration information.
