Issue:
My conection to the Perle controller dropped,now there is an error message in the display.

Cause:
When the link between a remote controller and AS/400 is lost,if the descriptions are not varied off. When the connection to the remote is restored the controller will display one or two messages.
431000 and 438908
431000 =>The 594 or 494 controller received a negative response to a bind command.
438908=> The AS/400 did not accept the 594 or 494 connection request because the 5494 controller (Remote Controller) descriptions had been varied off. 

Solution:
To resolve the errors,type the work configuration status WRKCFGSTS *CTL , locate the controller descriptions  check the status of the description also check the attached devices ensure there are no active or pending jobs if any end all jobs ,vary off all devices and the controller and vary on. The controller will now clear the display and restore the connection to all the attached devices on the controller
