PSeries router using Frame-Relay for Internet access

Issue:
How to configure PSeries router for Internet access over Frame-Relay.

Solution:

By default the router will auto-learn the DLCI and LMI from your Frame-Relay network. Connect the router to the Frame-relay circuit and power on the router, then from the Main menu select the following menus and options.

Configuration menu
LAN setup menu
IP Set-up menu
IP Address [enter the private IP address and mask size for your router's LAN interface]

Press the = key.

Configuration menu
WAN Set-up menu
Link set-up menu
Link interface type [depending on your router model, specify the interface type being used]
Frame relay [enabled]

Press the TAB key.

Remote Site Set-up menu

Edit Remote site
For the Remote Site id enter the number '1' (assuming a Remote site was auto-created after auto-learning of the DLCI and LMI).

For the Template ID, enter the word 'none'.

Connection Set-up menu
Primary link [depending on your router model, specify whether using link module in position 1 or 2]
PPP [Disabled]
State [enabled]

Press the TAB key.

Protocol Set-up menu
IP parameters menu
NAT [enabled]
Local IP Address [enter public IP address and mask size provided by your network]
Peer IP address [enter the ISP gateway IP address]
IP Routing menu
Routing protocol [none]
Auto default route [enabled]

Press the = key.

Save configuration
Diagnostics menu
Soft reset - yes to reset.
