Issue:
If the primary RADIUS server is offline and a backup RADIUS server is configured in the Perle 833, the authentication fails.
Cause:
The Host Retry value has been set to 0 or is too short.
Solution:
If the Host Retry parameter in the Perle 833 RADIUS configuration is set to 0 the Perle will not wait for a response from the Backup RADIUS server and will continue to retry the authentication with the Primary.
If the time is too short then the same problem can also occur.
Increase the Host Retry value.
The default is 60 minutes.
