Issue:
How to stop the banner and/or header from being printed when using LPD remote printing.
Cause:
The local LPD configuration has instructed the remote print server (or terminal server) to print a banner and/or header.
Solution:
Configure your LPD printer setup to suppress banners and headers.
On BSD printing systems the lp command can take the option of "nobanner".
example: # lp -d jsprinter -o nobanner /etc/hosts
System V printing an CUPS use different configuration files and options. Please refer to the man pages on your system.
