Issue:
How to use the Iolan DS for remote printing.
Cause:
LPR printing services are not supported by the Iolan DS product.
Solution:
The Iolan DS model does not support LPD printing services (this is available on the Iolan SDS model).
If you are attaching a serial printer to the Iolan DS you can use IP printing services on your OS (if supported) or local printing services with Trueport.
Configure your IP printing service to attach to the Iolan DS using the raw TCP port number you configured.
This may be shown as RAW printing or you can also use JetDirect.
Configure the Iolan DS port for a Reverse Raw service and configure a DS Port number.
You can also use Trueport or Ioland to create a local TTY devices and utilize local printing (refer to the Iolan DS and Iolan+ User Guide for details).
