How to Install and Run the Controller pc Configuration Utility

Issue:
How do I install and run the pc configuration utility for the 494 and 594 controllers?

Solution:

Locate the pc config. utility installation diskettes.

If they are not available then use a browser to connect to the internet . Then goto PERLE software downloads

- select the controller type

- select the O/S type (DOS or WINDOWS

- select the desired language

- select save to disk ( note the save to dir)

After down-loading the file goto the down-load dir then locate the file. It will be named as follows:

DOS 494/594 "pcutild.exe"

WIN 594 "pcutili.exe"

WIN 594M "pcutilm.exe"

You must extract the application by running the appropriate "*.exe" file.

After the files are extracted the DOS versions will require the creation of installation diskettes. This is done by running a file named "upcutild.bat".

WIN versions will require the creation of installation diskettes. This is done by running a file named "upcutili.bat".

The utility can be installed in the following ways:

DOS : change to the A drive by typing "A:". then type " install c 0 ".

WIN : select START RUN BROWSE then select the installation drive then select SETUP.EXE

Note: the extraction process for the old 594M utility will automatically run setup.exe.The new version will create a file named utilmgr.exe. Run this file. It will extract files. Run the setup.exe file. During this process you will be prompted to select an installation mode. The choices are : standalone , serial and standalone , tcpip and standalone.

The serial option will prompt you for a com port. The tcpip option will prompt for an ip address.

594 DOS : 594E 594eup.bat , 594T 594tup.bat
