Ordering information for T1 / PRI

Issue:
Information to assist in ordering a channelized T1 or ISDN PRI line for the 833AS.

Solution:

Telco's may ask a number of questions concerning the ordering of a T1/PRI line.

These are the most common answers.

CSU - The 833AS has an internal CSU but can also support an external CSU.

Telephone numbers:

Caller-identification services (ANI or CLID) is not supported on robbed-bit signaling (channelized T1) and should not be outpulsed.

DID/DNIS - Dialed Number Identification Service is a method to identify incoming calls to route the call. The Perle does not use DID/DNIS routing so there are not digits required and none should be outpulsed.

Line Framing and Line Coding supported:

D4 (SF) and ESF Framing
AMI, B8ZS, and JBZS Line Coding

Channelized T1

T1 signaling supported:

E&M Wink Start
E&M Delay Start
E&M Immediate Start
FXS Ground Start
FXS Ground Start
SAS Loop Start
SAS Ground Start

Some Telco's will refer to the signalling type using different terms:

ICOPNOP - Integrity Check Operation Trunk with No Outpulse is the same as E&M Wink start. No digits will be sent.

MIOPNOP - Miscellaneous Operation with No Outpulse is the same as E&M Immediate start. No digits will be sent.

The outbound signalling should match the inbound type.
If you have ordered an inbound signaling type as E&M Wink Start, then ensure that the outbound signaling type is also Wink.
The Perle supports both Tone Dial (DTMF) amd Pulse Dial for outbound calls.

ISDN PRI

ISDN PRI lines require one D channel for each physical line. NFAS is not supported on the 833AS.

The Perle supports the following PRI network protocols:

US NI-2
AT&T TR 41449 (4ESS and 5ESS)
NT DMS100 and DMS250
Japan INSnet 1500
V.120
