1) vary off the Remote Controller (5494)
next type wrkcfgsts *dev xxxxxxx (device name)
2) vary off the Appc Device
3) delete the appc device
4) delete the remote controller (5494)
If the controller was manually created or renamed.
1) Record the names of all attached devices.
2) vary off and delete controller
To restore the AS/400.
1) Create the remote(5494) controller ,and attach the devices,.

when all device names are restored the remote controller will be created.
Note: To try and prevent or reduce the number of internal error occurrences, IBM may advise to change the "Device Wait Timer" parameter from 120 to 60 seconds. The "Device Wait Timer" is an additional parameter found in the RWS Controller description.
