Issue:
The 494 or 594 controller loses connection when the last user signs off the AS/400 sytem. To recover must vary off and on the remote controller on the as/400.
Cause:
When a 594 or 494 controller is connected to the AS/400 and the descriptions are autocreated the as/400 sets the value switched disconnect to *yes which causes the connections to drop after the last User signs off the system.
Solution:
This example contains the suggested configuration for a remote workstation controller.
Display the AS/400 controller description WRKCFGSTS *CTL (remote controller name if known)
To change description do the following:
1) vary off the controller option 2 = varyoff
2) select 8= work with descriptions.
3) next select 2 = change.
4) Tab to field "Switched disconnect " change from *Yes to *No (as shown in example)
